Energizing Detox Juice Recipe

The Blender Girl, Tess Masters, known for her creative and easy plant based recipes for anyone with a blender, stayed with Westin during her book tour. She shares her experience, excitement about all things fresh and healthy, as well as an energizing detox juice recipe that can be enjoyed at home or from Westin Fresh by the Juicery.

To celebrate the release of The Blender Girl smoothies book (based on the Blender Girl Smoothies app) I partnered with Westin Hotel & Resorts to tour across the United States sharing the incredible power of juices and smoothies, and strategies for healthy living. While traveling, Westin made it so easy for me to eat healthy foods, workout, sleep peacefully, and stay relaxed and grounded during my hectic schedule.

Well, guess what? Things just got better! This year Westin launched a phenomenal juice and smoothie initiative! Aaaaahhh! The hotel of my dreams!

Westin has partnered with The Juicery to create Westin Fresh by The Juicery. This initiative is designed to offer incredible fresh juices and smoothies for guests to eat well during their stay.  And these aren’t your run-of-the-mill juices and smoothies that you might find at other hotels and restaurants! (You all know how particular I am about my drinks!) The Juicery has commissioned leaders in nutrition and integrative medicine to develop signature recipes that are nutritious, delicious, innovative, and right on the cutting edge of current food trends.

When you stay at a Westin hotel or resort you can order theses juices and smoothies from in-room dining for breakfast or in the restaurants on site. I’m guessing this program is going to be really popular, and will hopefully expand. Fingers crossed!

Westin sent me some juice and smoothie recipes to try. Today, I want to share this Beet, Acai, Pomegranate,Spinach, and Coconut Water juice. This juice is refreshing and delicious, and is great for a detox or immunity boost, and is fantastic for your liver. It’s also really energizing.

Beet, Acai, Pomegranate Juice

  • 5oz/150g raw purple beets, washed and scrubbed

  • 4oz/33g acai berries or blueberries, washed

  • 4oz/50g pomegranate seeds or pitted cherries, washed

  • 4oz/100g baby spinach, washed

  • 4 fl oz/110ml raw coconut water

  • 1 sprig mint, plus more to taste (for garnish)

Push beetroot, spinach, acai, and pomegranate seeds through your juicer. Pour into a glass and stir through the coconut water. Serve garnished with mint. Makes one 8oz glass. Enjoy!
