Chef Symon has appeared on Food Network’s Iron Chef and ABC’s The Chew, so diners know they are in for a special treat when dining at one of his restaurants. Be sure to check out the restaurants happy hour offered Monday through Friday at the restaurant’s bar for dishes such as Rosemary Fries, Stuffed Peppers, the Roast Burger, and more.

2. Wright & Company

This downtown Detroit restaurant features a snazzy interior and delicious food and beverage program to match. Helmed by Chef Marc Djozlija, previously of Wolfgang Puck’s MGM Grand restaurant, diners are treated to a meal crafted by a James Beard award winner right here in Detroit.

3. Cadieux Café

If it’s good enough for Anthony Bourdain, it’s good enough for us! Recognized on the popular Travel Channel TV show, No Reservations, Cadieux Café serves delicious Belgian cuisine, including steamed mussels and an extensive Belgian beer menu. During the prohibition era, the café was a local-favorite speakeasy, and its rowdy late-night reputation his maintained with live music and performances keeping the restaurant open until 2 a.m. daily!

People around the world have no-doubt heard of Chicago-style and New York-style pizza, but Detroit-style is just as noteworthy and delicious. The original Detroit-style square pizza was created in the kitchen of Buddy’s in 1946, and diners have been flocking to the restaurant ever since. 5. Mabel Gray

Fans of the television series Top Chef may recognize former contestant James Rigato in the kitchen at Mabel Gray.
